Where to even begin. This is feeling a little surreal to me. I have been envisioning myself sitting down at this desk and writing out my first blog post on my very own blog for quite some time. Someone pinch me!

First off, I need to give a shout out to my Mom for giving me a kick in the butt to get this going. Second off, welcome to Arrows & Twine. My name is Samantha Belsey and I’m the girl behind the screen, the DIY projects, the words of attempted wisdom and the pretty pictures of farmhouse inspiration and copper accents. When you stumble across my blog posts, you will most likely find me dreaming up new decor and reno ideas for my century farmhouse, scouring the Saturday Yard Sale section of the newspaper, in the wood shop making wood signs to paint for my small business, sipping on a strong coffee or a Canadian whiskey (depends on the day, am I right?), caring for my horses or cuddled up by the fire with my sweet man.

I’m a girl of many hats and many creative hidden talents. I own a small business called Krieger Customs where I make hand painted custom wood signs, handlettered calligraphy prints and I have created a wedding rentals line for the rustic bride. I cant wait to share with you all my many ups and downs that involve starting, running and maintaining a small Etsy business. I also have a passion for antiques and vintage finds. I pride myself on being the ‘yard sale queen’ where some of my most favourite pieces in my home cost me 25 cents (or less).

That takes me into my journey to our very own century farmhouse. Man what a road that was, from starting my career in the corporate world, being unemployed and defeated, to landing a dream job, to wanting to quit the ‘dream job’ for my bigger dream job and now, curating the dream job as we speak. What a mouthful! You may ask what would the definition of that dream job be.. well surprise! I don’t really know what that is either. But I have that intuition that the clarity is right around the corner. And I cant wait to share the journey with you all.

I called my blog Arrows & Twine for simple reasons. My love for arrows is a real obsession, I have them in my business logo, on my gallery wall, heck I have one tattooed on my back (too much info..?) and ever since I started my business I always use twine as a nice accent in my shipments. So it just seemed like a good fit. Hope you guys like it as much as I do! So grab your strong cup of coffee (or whiskey) and enjoy exploring through my journey through life. I’m so glad you’re here and I can wait to get to you know you, too. Cheers to launching ourselves into life’s next chapter.

Talk soon! Sam xx
