With a New Year comes the urge to refresh your living spaces. For me, I knew the Dining Room needed a little bit of love. I’ve been wanting to update the light fixture, add an area rugs and just simplify my decor to be simple and fresh. First thing I did was completely remove all my Decor and leave all surfaces blank, then I shopped my home and pulled my favourite pieces. The Dining Room is the heart of our home.. so I pass it about a million times idea- so I might as well be looking at my favourite pieces, right?
First thing on the list was to source out a new light fixture. This is a big room with a big table so I knew it had to be a statement piece! I headed to Wayfair.ca to start browsing and found exactly what I was looking for right away! I wanted to carry on the Farmhouse feel and this was the perfect light fixture. You can shop it here!
Next, I knew I wanted a new area rug for this space. To be honest.. I LOVE the one I sourced from Lowes.ca for the Living Room refresh last fall so I decided to check if it came in a bigger size! And it does! So I waited a bit to see if it ever went on sale and then I scooped an 8×10″ size up! I just love it. Its cozy yet busy enough to hide any dirt or imperfections as this is a high traffic room. Levy definitely approves! You can shop it here!
I scooped up those lamps on a whim at Homesense as I loved the burlap shade, neutral colours and glass bottom! They are so light and versatile. Nothing like a beautiful soft lamp to really cozy up a space!!
I’m still loving my IKEA dining room chairs. Thinking next I may switch out the covers to floor length covers to give the room a different look. But for right now, I maxed out the budget on these two pieces that really transformed the space! I’m so happy with it 🙂
