So one challenge or struggle that I’m constantly navigating through is a) not wanting to change my decor every 5 seconds (struggle is real right) and b) what am I decorating for? And especially when Summer winds down, your flowers are twindeling and everything is turning brown – you dont really know if you should decorate for what, Halloween? Start pulling out the Christmas tree? It’s kind of this gray area right? Well like with all my decor throughout our home, I try to do everything on a budget… and fall decor is no different. So friend, here is some simple budget friendly tips to put a little fall love in your home when those chilly nights start to roll in!

Gimmie all the pumpkins!

Now being a country girl, I’m no stranger to seeing farm stands plenty times a day filled with fruit, vegetables and locally grown flowers. People would think my favourite time for farm stand shopping is summer, but I look so forward to October when these farm stands become filled with pumpkins, corn stalks, guords – the whole works! And want to know a secret – you can fill up your car for loonies and twoonies AND you are supporting a local farmer! Hello? Win win! Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes – and some farms even harvest white and pastel colour pumpkins! So trendy.. Also you cant go wrong with buying a few stocks of corn that are sun kissed giving them an earthy and crispy feel. I like to simply wrap some around my posts on my porch using some thin wire. This can simply transform your front entrance! Along with these natural decor items, Fall decor isn’t fall decor without a pot of mums. Or 7. This is when things can get pricey, and you cant really use this flower much longer then the first signs of frost. However – there’s something about a couple pot of white crisp mums on my front porch that give me all the fall vibes. This is where I splurge on my fall decor 🙂

Now Pumpkins, guords, corn stalks and mums are a great way to decorate your outdoors, but call me crazy I used some of these pieces inside too! The miniature pumpkins you can easily find at your local grocery store, sometimes in white too. And you can also buy miniature potted mums too! I don’t like to go crazy with fall decor inside, but a cute teeny pumpkin on my island counter or in my dining room brings me a whole lot of joy! I’m even thinking I might join in on the fun next summer and plant some of my own pumpkins and sunflowers! Then ill be really excited for fall decorating!!

Happy decorating for fall my friend!
