Happy almost Christmas Friends!! So.. I have a lot of entertaining to do this Holiday season and as I was gathering my groceries and other supplies I completely blanked on one thing for my table!! Christmas crackers!! So of course after work im flying all around town trying to find some or even the supplies to make my own.. but no luck until I found a couple boxes left at Dollar Tree. But, they weren’t really my style or trendy.. so I thought to myself there has got to be away to transform these into stylish crackers!! So I dove right in deconstructing them and I found a very easy route to bring them from drab to fab! With minimal materials and just a few steps.. you can turn your Dollar Store crackers into your very own trendy crackers! Take a peek!

Materials

-Crackers

-Wrapping Paper or Kraft Paper

-Scissors

-Tape

-Ribbon

-Extra candy, toys etc to stuff into your cracker

-Fresh Greenery (optional)

-Name Tags (optional)

Process

  1. Cut away ribbon already on your Christmas cracker. Disassemble cracker and add any other treats you would like to have in your cracker!
  2. Reassemble your cracker using a piece of tape if need be. Cut out your desired length of paper ensuring it will wrap all around the cracker. Start rolling with a piece of tape fastened on your seam, then continue to cover the whole cracker securing with tape again.
  3. Find your ‘pinch’ areas where the crackers were tied with ribbon before. Chose your ribbon and begin to tie a knot around the ‘pinch’ area. Not too tight to break your paper on the edges, but enough to make sure the fold is visual. Double knot and complete with a bow. Continue on the other side. Tip* when you are tying your bow, make sure the tape side is down and your bows are on top!
  4. If need be trim the edges of your cracker and cut any access paper off the ends.
  5. Use a fresh snip of Greenery and a name tag if you wish on your ribbon to use as a placard for your table as shown! Enjoy!
