As much as I love gift giving… I think I like wrapping the gifts even more!!!! And I love doing it on a budget. (Surprise surprise 😉 ) This year I didnt buy any wrapping paper. I went very natural and simple with my wrapping. I’d love to share some tips and tricks on how you can do some DIY wrapping, and not break the bank doing it!
Now all of these supplies pictured here are supplies I use in my business. But they are very affordable and most of them are available right from the dollar store!
- Role of kraft paper or newspaper (you can even buy a blank roll from your local newspaper business!)
- Assorted christmas stamps and stamp pad (these are both from Michaels)
- Greenery from your favourite pine or cedar tree
- Twine or Ribbion
- Blank gift tags (these are from my package supplier, you can also find some at Michaels, or buy a stack of brown kraft card stock and cut out your own! Using a hole punch to slip the twine through, you can cut all different sizes and shapes too!)
With the use of the stamps and kraft paper, I made different designs with the stamps criss crossing them in different ways adding little snips of greenery as I tied my stamped tag with twine. I did the stamping after I wrapped the package in my kraft paper, so I knew the exact space I was working with! Now if youre OCD like me, this will create a very nice neutral and simple display under your tree, going perfectly with my decor style!
These packages were fun to wrap (especially with a chilled whiskey and coke, am I right..two days before Christmas may I add..) listening to Christmas tunes and humming away. There’s such a level of accomplishment when I know that I’ve done a simple DIY using the supplies around me from my business and my craft tote to make something even prettier then a store bought wrapping supply! So get to filling up that craft tote friend, you never know when you can do a quick and easy DIY in your life that will save you a trip (and $) to the craft store!
Happy crafting friend!
